Ontario Equipment Requirements:
Ontario now allows tractor wheelbases to exceed 244 inches for acceptable loads, provided the trailer wheelbase remains within permitted restrictions. Currently, oversize and overlength cargoes are restricted to a 244-inch tractor wheelbase unless special permission is acquired.
Spread/Wide Axles: A spread axle group (over 6′ separation) is permitted and given the same weight as a closed tandem (about 22,000 per axle authorized weight).
Lift Axles: Ontario allows less weight on the axles.
